Ours is up almost all the time, including during travel, and only gets put down at night as bed for the kiddos. Then back up in the morn for breakfast.

It is the act of lowering (or probably raising) the table when it is super cold that blows the seals...not whether it is stored up or down.

Wonder if the reason for saying always tow with table in the down position relates to torque on the screws holding it to the floor if towing in up position?

We always leave our pedestal table up . About 3 1/2 years now , not a problem . Pat

Pat, does your table slide have some way to lock it in a fixed position? Ours does not seem to have such a lock. I think it would slam back and forth going down the road. We are on the list to get a 4 way slider which I think locks in both directions.

We use a bungee cord to hold the table in position while traveling. Hooked to the table edge and around the pedestal column.

hmmm. i have a springfield in my 2018 17 and was told at orientation that it was fine to leave it up with the slide locked in place. probably 15,000 miles so far with no trouble at all.
