Standard 4.3 Dometic Refer Question

Still getting familiar with all the features of our 19' picked up in April.

As I'm contemplating the refrigerator grill release clip modification [Thanks, techfan!], I notice I have a small muffin fan located in my refrigerator access area, similar to the add-on Dometic kits mentioned by kountrykamper in May. There's nothing in the manual about it. Is this now standard?

We've not heard it turn on, as of yet. Does it come on at a particular temperature? While our outside temperatures have not been warm, I'm curious as to when it operates.

Any insight?

Klaus

I asked Dometic that question several months ago as was told "the earliest the fan would kick on is 105F."

We have the same fan back there .We have our trailer since Nov 2013 . In all that time we have only heard it come on once and the outside temp was only about 80 with being hooked up to 120 . It was pretty loud and we almost couldn't believe it worked , which so far never has again . Going to install another fan in back I can control. Pat

All the 4.3 have them. It is controlled by a sensor mounted on the condenser that you probably can not see depending on if you have baffles installed behind the fridge. It comes on when the condenser reaches 150 degrees. You will know it when and if it ever comes on.

It can be seen in this picture clipped on the condenser.

Thanks, all,

Pat, I'll be watching for your controlled version modification.
