Suggestions on Mat in Shower/Toilet on E19
We have an Escape 19 and was wondering what others may do for a mat in to toilet/shower room. After using the shower it certainly takes some time to dry and we repeatedly wipe and squegee the floor. Anyone have any ideas on some type of mat on the floor that may not get soaked and allow water to get to the drain?

I've seen many people purchase a wooden slatted floor rack that they take out while showering, then put in place afterwards. I think some are made of bamboo and some of teak. You might check walmart, bed bath and beyond, amazon, etc.

I leave mine in all the time except for cleaning the floor. Something like this allows dirt and water to escape and the top remains dry.

That's a beauty Jim. Where did you get it? I like the rounded corners and smoothness of it.

We use that one in our 21 also. Fits perfectly. don't know if it would fit a 19 bath though.

That one is 24x18 @ Amazon, really need a 24x20 to fit the floor in the E21 wall to wall. But it keeps your feet clean and dry. I suggest you buy extra screw plastic feet to make it really sturdy.

We use 6 squares of Dri-Dek flooring but take it out to shower. In our case it is to keep the floor from getting scratched up in normal use which is what happened to our previous trailer. It's a wee bit uncomfortable bare foot if such things bother you, has a bumpy surface for grip I guess. Cut to fit with a razor knife.

We use the Duragrid Comfort tiles ( Shower Mats | Locker Room Flooring). They're a bit easier on the feet than the regular Dri Dek tiles and easy to cut. We leave ours in all the time and I usually place paper towels underneath when we're not showering to catch the dirt, etc., from daily use.

I thought the 5.0 bath was the same as the E19 and both were smaller than the E21?

Ditto on the Dri-Dek. I had the floor in my boat engine room covered in it. The stuff is bulletproof. I also keep a 2’x2’ section of it to throw in the dirt by the outdoor shower if I am in an area that allows it.

It will. We have a fabric 24x18 that will be replaced as soon as we are home from this 5-6 week trip.

I took a stock teak mat and cut it down to add the notch for the wheel well. I then just sanded a bit and added teak oil to the cut ends. It works very well, and still looks great years later. Here's the link to my original thread:

I used Dri-Dek in my Casita and use it now in my 5.0TA. No issues on my bare feet.

I have wimpy feet. Dri-Dek absolutely hurts. I use an old towel on the floor of the shower pan in Ten Forward. Warm on the feet at night and I can take it out and shake it. I should also add, I'm cheap

That is exactly what we have in our shower . Saw in Gregg ‘s trailer and really liked it . We don’t remove though , just lift up to dry and clean under .
And you won’t slip either . Not expensive either . 6 years in November . Pat
