That makes sense. Fortunately, with a tandem axle ramping up on the other tire on the same side is available as a safer alternative.

Yes, I agree but we are not talking about a tandem, all you need for a tandem like you said are some leveling blocks to raise the good tire and the bad one is elevated. I believe it was a single axle17B set up situation in the first post. Any my scenario was a single axle set up years ago.

Bought at an RV place. Good for a tandem axle.
