Tool Box.... What tools within?

What's in your tool box?

My wife and I will pick up our 5.0TA and go directly into lots of camping.

Rather than purchase all new tools as I need them.... what tools should we have on board to start?

What's in your tool box and why?

Here are a few previous rounds of this discussion (and I'm sure there are more):While the oldest of these goes back a few years, I can't think offhand of any reason for the toolbox contents to have changed.

I bring a 12" X 10" X 10 " tool box and I could lift a 327 V8* 0ut 0f a 64 Impala Rag in 6 Hrs.
And do a trans plant in 8 hrs @ there's at least 2 beer breaks in there some where .. N.S.
P.S and I was 18 years young .

I wish I was 18 again

I hear that last comment loud and clear. Those old three speed mercury transmissions were tough to lift into place and get a couple bolts in without a tranny jack. Laying on your back with your brother in a hurry to get the lead sled back together cause he had a hot one on the string. 1968. Dont leave home without some hose washers for the water hose and some Teflon tape. Regular and PTFE for propane.

I'd say what's in peoples tool boxes is probably directly proportional to their mechanical abilities. Sometimes I've found that when a person wants to borrow a tool for a repair they're also hoping the tool owner might help them out a bit.

Take a few of the basics to start. Apart from tools there's also the issue of repair and spare parts. Some, maybe those who take along a ton of tools, tend to carry lot's of spare parts etc. Others, not so much.

I love buying tools.
Using them, not so much.
First, I have to find them.
