Touch Audio by Lippert 17' Escape

The "Touch Audio Multimedia Interface System" offered as an option with my Escape trailer has gotten lots of poor reviews..; does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative system? I don't need DVD, TV. But I would like AM/FM radio and a USB port to plug my itouch into to play music. I also wonder whether the Jensen MSX60RV speakers are any good that are offered as an option, or should I be looking to get different ones and if so what kind? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ian

Look at London Drugs, Future Shop for a dock with the features you want. It won't be built in, but you can have it in the trailer, or at home or the beach. And, if it breaks, you won't have a hole in your trailer.
I have an Altec-Lansing iPod dock. Has an Aux. jack too, but no USB. I also have a Sirius Executive Dock for my portable Sirius satellite radio ( it also docks in the RAV ). Downside of Sirius is the monthly subscription, but it's what we listen to most since we don't camp in places with a lot of AM/FM choices ( or any ).
I would like to add exterior AC and DC outlets to the trailer, but I just put up with extension cords run out a door or window.

I would go the portable route next time. The stereo we got works great in the trailer, but not outside.

I went with this Jensen am/fm/wb radio (JHD910bt) that is often used for motorcycles and other smaller vehicles. Sound is not bad. Reace installed it for me and he also provided an antenna built into the walls of the Escape.

I went with a Pioneer stereo and Kenwood speakers (See photos under "Egbert is home") The sound is incredible and I am very pleased. I really don't care for music outdoors so mobility was not an issue for me.
