towing speed and tires

I have been doing a bit of reading on the internet (should never do that) about trailer tires failing due to over loading, towing too fast and poor quality build. It did not seem to matter which brand, but there were several references to Goodyear 15 inch tires failing (usually from being overloaded). Our 17 has Goodyear 14 inch tires with a max speed rating of just over 100km per hour. Since I found out about all this stuff, I have kept to 100 or less, saves gas too. Has anybody had issues with their tires?

Hi: Chris R... I haven't had issues with my 15" tires, but had to have all the valve stems replaced. (weakest link) thing!!! There were millions of bad stems mfg'd in China in 06-07 and they all started cracking from exposure. Close inspection revealed even my never used, covered spare, stem was cracked.
I really think a lot of tire failures were the stems letting the air out at hwy. speed. It cost me $30. to have all 3 replaced...cheap insurance i'd say. Alf
