Trailer cord that attaches to tow

Anyone have any idea's how to cover the trailer cord that attaches to tow ? I keep putting 303 on cord . Cord is very stiff . Uv 's are attacking it . Help ? Pat

Cover it with split loom tubing. You can buy it at most hardware stores, auto supplies, or Amazon.
