Jeff got his Escape cupboards modified to create more floorspace for his dog.

Sandra -- who be Jeff? And where can I track him down to ask him about his mods?

(And btw, I think my husband just emailed you about seeing your Escape when he's in Davis, CA, later this week) ...

Re: Travelling with dogs -- how do you manage?

We had a permanent bed built in our 17B and the space below the bed is our "dog house". The key to travelling with dogs is to have smaller dogs, in MHO. Our dog is a cairn terrier....our third. We are thinking about getting a fourth. We actually have friend arriving from New Hampshire this weekend and they breed and show cairns. They will have 6-8 dogs with them. Some fun.

Jerry, do you have a snap of the "dog bed" that you could share?

Thanks, Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I think I have to agree with Bill (Keager) up there. You need room for your dogs, you need a bathroom and capacity to dry camp. I don't think the 15A is going to do it.

I'm loving all the dog photos though. 8)

Re: Travelling with dogs -- how do you manage?

Gotta learn how to post photos. But the "dog house" is really only the space between the floor and the bed and between the two storage areas under what would otherwise be seats. Only good for smaller dogs. Larger dogs would have to crawl in. We keep her bed, her toys, her feed and water dish in there. I hope I never get kicked outa bed or the dog may have to share.

I'd be Jeff!! We had a 17B and had Reace cut the wardrobe in 1/2 Depth wise and continued the wardrobe up to the overhead cupboards..so imagine a tall warddobe (with selves) vs a short squat one to hang cloths..It basically gave us an additional 6-8 inches of floorspace for our dog (shiba). It worked out perfectly. We no longer have the Escape, but the Mod was something I would do again..

Jeff, hooray!

I'm trying to picture this ... you're saying it was like 12" wide instead of 24" roughly? So just a smidgen more floor space next to the bed?

And, the obvious question: how come you no longer have the Escape?
