It worked out perfectly. We no longer have the Escape, but the Mod was something I would do again..
Norma and I enjoy that closet every trip Jeff.
Its amazing how it opens up that area

Because he sold it to someone who sold it to us ??

I'll look for a picture of the closet...
OK...pictures of the front including the 1/2 depth full height closet start at picture 22.

This is all kind of amazing. You Escape people should do some sort of geneology ... I suspect you all share some sort of benevolent great great great great someone. It's like a very happy and generous family around here.

Jeff, is photo number #25 the cabinet straight on? And shelves inside?

Hi Medora,
Yes, picture 25 shows the front view of the custom closet.
We store linens and toiletries behind the upper door, and dry foods, pots and pans, and extra shoes behind the lower.

Paul,

That cabinet modification looks great....how many shelves are in it? Any way you could post a picture of the inside of the cabinet (with the doors opened)? I'm thinking I like this idea for my new trailer too. Thanks.

That modification isn't for me. I use the space atop the wardrobe like you would use any table - a place for the radio or a fruit bowl or whatever. But mainly, if you fill that in you are going to create a little cave at the front, losing the sight lines and feeling of space.

Same here Glenn, that top of the wardrobe is where lots of things go when we go to bed at night, wallet, eyeglasses, keys, etc, then in the morning we can set the radio/iPod dock there - it really comes in handy for us. That feeling of more space is one of the many things I like about our 17B compared to the Scamp 16 we had before it.

Re: Travelling with dogs -- how do you manage?

Glenn, the reduced depth of the cabinet increases the usable space at the dinette/couch area.
Although the Escape has less counter space than we were used to in our Scamp, I try to avoid cluttering the kitchen space by storing the contents of my pockets in one of the front overheads overnight.
Nadia, I'll get you pictures when I bring the Escape home Thursday for our next trip.
On the subject of dogs, ours prefer breakfast outdoors...

One really has to wonder why Tammy and Reace haven't designed the 15D and 17D models yet -- specially configured for our canine friends

Paul, if you can, please share your photos of the cabinet here for all to see. I'm not sure I get how this mod affects the visuals within the trailer -- the "cave" -- though I understand the missing counter space.
