I looked for a 12V option three years back and could not find one that was cost effective or good quality, so in a hurry just picked up a 24" Samsung Smart TV. I had my temp trailer at the time, and just used a small 200W inverter to easily power the TV and the laptop which contained movies and shows. We had some really bad weather on that trip and watched a fair bit and never had an issue.
Now I have a built in inverter that works just fine for the TV, though to be fair we haven't really watched it in our 5.0TA, always finding other things to do, but we could hit another bad weather bout.

We found the best deal at Best Buy for CA$139 for a 24" Insignia brand, and London Drugs has an RCA brand for a little more. They look so similar, I suspect they came out of the same factory in China.

The Best buy web site shows a replacement power brick and says that it is 12v

The description of the power brick compatibility has some other brands that may be something to look into as well, one is a Sony....

I agree Jim, nothing wrong with a 110 volt TV and a small inverter. I'd just like to get the most efficient set-up since they have been available in the past. And who knows that's what I might end up with.

Thanks, that looked like a promising way to search for a 12V TV. I was familiar with the Insignia #'s and knew they were discontinued. The other's turned out to be monitors.
Going to all the big box stores has been an eye opener. Manufacturers seem to just be paying lip service to 24" and smaller TV's. Acres of large screens but sometimes only 1 model of 24" or less. Can't blame them, more $ in larger units even though their prices now seem incredibly low to the prices even a couple of years ago. Lot's of 32" choices, too big for the 21, maybe I'll have to wait until the 25 comes out.
The search goes on. Didn't get a Black Friday deal that was suitable but Boxing Day specials might be starting any day now. If I don't find a suitable one that runs on DC then it'll be 110v and a small inverter.

I read on The Wirecutter that the time to buy a TV is between "Black Friday" and Xmas, unless you want the latest tech. New models come out in Feb.
The Wirecutter rates all sorts of products and is owned by New York Times.

Ron: Have you tried out eBay? Might find "new in box" for either power brick or TV. ?

We have a 22" and find it big enough. I'm sure you could fit a larger one if you wanted to. We have a good sturdy wall mount and have traveled with the TV staying on the mount with no problems. It's pretty easy to swing it out of the way to access the tall cabinet or upper cabinet by the bed.

So I was kind of kidding about Boxing Day sales starting soon because some places have "heldover Black Friday" deals that are good until tomorrow.
The local paper today has electronics store flyers "early release Boxing Day" deals. Not even a day between Black Friday and Boxing Day sales.
I used to use ebay for a lot of things. But the for buying a TV, maybe not likely. It's filled with ads with Chinese vendors and even quite a few from Italy. Not quite the way it used to be.
And none of the Boxing Day flyers had a suitable 24" TV. Actually there was only a total of one 24" and it's not on the list.

That looks like a great location for the TV. Hadn't actually seen a photo of a TV installed in a 5.0TA. Yes, we also left our TV on the bracket while travelling and never had a problem.

I also have the an Axess tv/dvd. I largely watch dvds, and this tv is working well for me, so far. Sound is terrible, but I use an inexpensive portable Bluetooth speaker that I set near me. It makes all the difference. Very pleased with this setup.

All I want for Christmas is my two........12volt TVs.
Well that was a little more difficult than going on Amazon and going "click" and done. But I learned a lot about 12 volt TVs. They were my first choice with one that had a 19 volt input, with a buck converter second and a 110 volt with an inverter was the default choice.
I've been watching Craigslist like a hawk for the last month. One guy had a 12 volt TV but wanted $250 There was one for $30 but after two weeks of no reply I presumed it was sold. Then one for $50 came up and I went and bought it. Came home, got a text, am I still interested in the TV for $30. Hey, for a backup to a used TV it seemed like the thing to do. I'll call it my warranty TV.
One is a 420 model and the other is a 520 model. So I'll put a cigarette lighter plug on a spare cord that I have and the next step will be order the wall bracket, get it installed then make a final decision on the antenna.
All's well that ends well.

It's safe to say that neither will watch either of those two types of programs.
I'm a news junkie, that's my primary reason for having a TV with me. After that it's Jeopardy and blood and guts action movies.
I should have mentioned that the brand is Insignia, both models are discontinued and the current model is 110 volt corded.

Stream stuff and watch DVDs on your computer. We miss the TV not at all. Mounting a TV is such a space hog in an RV.

In most of the places I go streaming isn't an option but I do download movies and will play them on the TV. Bigger screen than my laptop.
Play DVD's. Never owned one and didn't realize that folks even still used them. Very inefficient when you consider how little space a load of movies on a hard drive or a stick take up.
Not sure what I'd use this location for if it wasn't for the TV. Certainly don't regard it as a space hog.
24" TV, perfect for this location in a 21.
