US consumer group?

As often as I look at Escape's web site and go to the 5.0TA part, I am befuddled by the following quote: "The US consumer group has placed the Escape 5.0TA at the top of the list based on its coach, frame construction, tow ability and resale value." Mind you, I am not arguing with that assessment, only curious as to who the "US consumer group" is that they reference.

Anybody know?

Thanks,

Frank

If you buy one Frank, you will be part of this elite group.

Ha ha ha! Not exactly what i was looking for Jim.

I tried RV Consumer Group, but their web site leaves much to be desired. You have to pay to get their ratings, only $69.95. https://rv.org/

Still a mystery. No big deal, but every time I read that it makes me curious.

I can offer this. RV.org is the right group.
Page 3 of their "sample report" lists Escape by Escape Trailer (distinct from the Escape by K-Z) so we know it is rated.
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/14...69322561448595

Also this old thread indicates that someone subscribed and all the Escape models rated 4 out of 5. He didn't see any models from any manufacturers that rated a 5 (circa 2012).
www.escapeforum.org/forums/f7/are-you-a-member-of-rv-consumer-group-1716.html

On edit it appears that they don't rate specific models so I should say that "Escape Trailer Industries" rated 4 out of 5. From rv.org:
"The brand usually refers to a complete line of similarly-built RVs in varying lengths and floor plans. Because of the large amount of models manufacturers are producing (for Towables over 5,000 annually), it is becoming practically impossible to obtain accurate specifications for each model."

Great info, thanks!

Yes, I knew Escape was rated as I did see that PDF they have.

Now it has my interest. Gail and I have been looking at other types of trailers, but the individual forums all have horror stories! Hmmm...

Perhaps the US Consumer group are us, the owners located in the states that drink the kool aid and talk nothing but good about the product.....

We looked at a ton of options from T@b to sprinter vans to rpods. Nothing....and I mean nothing out there came close to the fit and finish of the Escape.

Another plus- no dealers. Just the owners and satisfied customers. We visited a local couple who bought direct from Escape. Their experience and their trailer convinced us.

We bought used and are heading out Saturday for our first "real" trip - 7 nights. Headed to the fiberflass rally at Bullard Beach Oregon in july. Then in August, we're heading out for a year. We'll keep you all posted!

FWIW, I just got home from work and I sipped a scotch while sitting inside the escape in my driveway. Guess I'm excited about this trip.

You are going to fit right in with this crowd!

I bought our 2013 pre-owned Escape and just put an additional 3,530 miles on it. Couldn't be happier with my decision. A solid, well built and thought out product. Oh! and while I was in California with its lower liquor taxes than Washington, I stocked up on scotch.

I don’t know about that, Jim. I’ve seen some quite disparaging remarks on this forum by people (malcontents) who criticize Escape because their Dometic refrigerator or A/C isn’t working properly or their Suburban furnace or water heater will not ignite. Obviously, as some of them have stated, these product failures are ETI’s fault.....

BTW, Kool Aid isn’t good for you; too much sugar!

Actually Kool Aid has less sugar than soda as well as less chemicals. Those of us who grew up with Kool Aid (sodas were a luxury back then) maybe better off.

The closest to soda we got was collecting the empties from neighbors for the deposit.

Sherm and Arnie, you are my kind of guys! What's your favorite scotch? Mine is Glenmorangie 18YO. Just got a new bottle! Don't mean to hijack my own thread, but you guys started it!

Good for you. I brought a few bottles of whiskey back to Canada with me. Combined with what I had, what I got for my 60th, and other gifts and purchases, I have a problem. Can a guy have too much whiskey?

No, you can NOT have too much whiskey Jim. Especially single malt...

Enjoy.

If I don't have enough friends, I am pretty sure I could make some more.

Have to stock the bar in the trailer well for the Escape Rally.
I would eliminate the wine and rum from it.

The Glenlivet, 18 year old (because I can't afford the 21 year old).

Hi: Jim Bennett... Having too much whiskey is one thing... drinking too much is quite another.

That photo would definitely lure in the friends. Glad to see you have your priorities straight. Hard to bring in a selection across the border from the States.
