Red face Warranty repairs

Hi,
I own a 2017 17B, delivered Sept 2017 to my home in NJ. I have since moved to FL and have some things I would like to have repaired under the warranty. When I call Escape they told me I have to contact the manufacturer of each appliance I need repaired, I am not too happy about that... I thought the warranty would be honored by the shop doing the repairs, similar to warranties on my vehicles.

So now I am in search of a repair shop, since the first one was not helpful. Can anyone educate me on how to find one in the area of Fort Lauderdale, FL ? And what questions I should ask? The last guy was pretty busy and thus a little irritable. Thanks in advance

I think you misunderstood. Your trailer is still under warranty. But you need to make contact with the appliance manufacturer or certified warranty repair shop. ETI couldn't possibly keep track of all those places in Canada or the USA.

If you have the instruction manuals for whichever appliances are of concern to you, you will find an 800 number or a web address for a list of authorized service centres. There are many hundreds of these service centres in North America and more around the world.
They will all be busy. It's just the way it is these days.

If you can describe some of the issues you are having, maybe we can help you. Sometimes, problems can be resolved easily by yourself without having to go through the hassle of a repair shop.

I've had problems with Dometic products. I looked at their online service lookup tool and found a local mobile tech. He handled all communications with Dometic.

It did cost me $60 for the house call but I had use of the trailer all the time, as opposed to dropping it off for weeks or longer.

Thanks for your reply. Could you tell me how I can know if a shop is a "certified warranty repair shop" ? Or what I should ask to find out if they shop is certified for warranty repair?

Hi TDF-Texas,

Thanks for the reply. I am handy and not shy about DIY repairs, but at this point I don't want to void any warranties. I will however remember this for the future. Thank you for offering to help.

We had a problem with a Dometic appliance . The closest Dometic service center was almost 100 miles away . The time and cost to travel to the service center exceeded the cost of having the repairs done locally . The repairs cost around $60 and I didn’t have to leave home

Take your 100 miles and average it with my two kilometers to a Dometic service centre and you're good to go. It's downhill to mine.
