It's possible that you dislodged debris that was in the aerator at the faucet. Had my pump stop working a year ago. Took the aerator off, cleaned it and the pump worked.
The pump senses back-pressure and shuts off when you close the tap. If there is debris it blocks the flow and creates back pressure.
