Rinsed part out and flow is still low. One thing I noticed is the pump sound even when faucet isn't being run. Typically I only hear it when I'm using water, flushing toilet.

I snagged a picture from here on the forums, for resetting the water pump

I once manually filled the water tank outside using a new funnel I just bought. Much later the faucet just wasn't running water right. When I cleaned the filter I found residue from what I took to be a paper label from inside the funnel that somehow got sucked into the system and was trapped in the filter.

Thanks, Donna. If you have the link to that forum post handy, please share (this site is a maze). I'll look for it as well but based on image, looks like the pump needs to be removed in order to reset?

My last trip I ran my 4 year battery lower than it's ever been. I took it home and trickled charged for 2 months and meter reads good. I just tried water pump using TV power and flow is still the same - water comes out but then quickly slows to a barely a trickle then nothing

Can you plug in and try it while hooked up?

I can't find the exact thread, but the same type of image and info is here: http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f3...ater-7885.html

Yes, I tried that. Checked external shower (same problem). Now, no water is coming out. It's as if the small amount that was trickling out has been depleted and pump is not drawing from fresh water tank. The pump runs continuously but no signs of kinked hoses are problem with filter which surprisingly looks pristine. If the fuse needed to be replaced the pump wouldn't run, correct? Dumb question but have to ask

Thanks, Donna! I was about to try the sucking faucet suggestion mentioned in thread but now system seems to be working fine again. Weird. This has never happened before. I last boondock 2 months ago so it hasn't been sitting long. Now the pump is loud as ever not like previously when the sound was fainter. I've already ordered a new pump and filter through Amazon which I probably won't cancel but if anyone know the average lifespan on shurflo, let me know. I googled it and can't get a clear answer. Thanks to all! I LOVE this forum.

If the pump is running then you have power. How much water is in your tank?

I would order a new pump. In the event that the old one is still good, it's not a bad idea to carry a spare when traveling.

We had the same problem en route to delivering our 19' to its new owner. Turned on the water pump (yep, there was water in the tank), heard a low hum but water, at first, trickled out and then nothing came out. Thankfully, we were camped next to an RV repair facility and they graciously got us in to take a look at it. Two hours and $138 later, we left with a brand new pump.

In thinking back, I remembered the year before, when buttoning up the trailer for winter, I accidentally hit the water pump switch and it ran for several minutes until I noticed it -- with no water in the tank. Since I caught it fairly quickly (I thought), all seemed okay ... until we tried using the pump the following year.

It IS my birthday so maybe my trailer decided to give me a break. Lol. But seriously, earlier 8 mentioned I hadn't done anything else and it started working correctly. That's not entirely true. I removed filter I previously rinsed out again (to get part number) but this time I slid out the thin wire mesh and there was a miniscule (very thin, half the size of a grain of rice) piece of plastic. I removed it, reseated filter and was going to try suction section on faucet but no need to as it's working better than ever. It's hard to imagine but perhaps that microscopic piece of plastic was the problem. My filter looked new otherwise so imagine my surprise reading posts from folks who reported green algae in theirs. Thanks again everybody. Hopefully crisis is over and I can get on with enjoying beautiful Lake Tahoe!

The first place I'd look is the aerator on the faucet. If that gets clogged with mineral deposit or debris it creates a back pressure that causes the pump to shut down ( just like a gas pump ).
Unscrew it from the faucet and check the screen. Take is apart, carefully noting what order it is assembled.

I noticed that with my 17B, after going from sites with water hookups to dry sites & using the pump, I often had to open a faucet to drain the pressure in the system before the pump would start to pump. It ran, making a humming noise, but wouldn't pump water with the normal "chugging" sound until the pressure went down.

Good tip, Ours was plugged nearly solid with hard water deposits from the hot water heater when we fired up the system this spring. And I had even rinsed out the hot water tank at the end of last season.
