water pump won't turn off

Please tell me there is a simple solution. The water pump is pumping the water but when we turn the water off the pump continues to run. When we are done using the water we need to turn the water pump off at the switch. Yes we have bled the lines, and there are no signs of any leaks. We are camped where there is no cell service. (Jalama) but since the campground is having plumbing issues of its own, they released the Internet and dropped off porta potties to make up for it.

1) Pressure switch is not satisfied - May not be set properly or defective
2) Faucet open ,toilet valve leaking , leak in plumbing system - Water pressure cannot build up to satisfy pressure switch.
3) NO or low water in fresh water storage tank . You cannot build up water presume to satisfy the pressure switch if the pump has nothing to pump

Mine has been known to run almost 5 minutes before shut off, depending on amount in the lines.

If it is a shurflo pump there is an adjustment screw on top that requires an Allen wrench. No need to remove the pump, unless the pump has been mounted upside down. Turn slowly to increase or decrease the pressure.

Thank you for the information. when we picked up our trailer from ETI in March there was a lot of debris in the water line. We had to keep flushing the areators ( even had to remove the bathroom faucet to get a plug, pipe dope? out of the hot water handle). when we got home we emptied the hot water tank and flush that out I wonder if something got stuck in the pressure switch. On our first trip after bringing the trailer home we were on city water and did not use the pump.

Excellent list... to which I'll add:
4) One or more valves in pump stuck open (due to debris?) so output water is cycling around in pump.

Thanks Brian , I forgot about the check valve being stuck open by debris.
