Waxing cords on blinds
I am wondering if anyone has tried making the blinds/shades easier to use by waxing the cords? I believe I have some wax in my sewing box, I am guessing it maybe bees wax.
Discoloration and collecting more dirt are some issues I can think of.

Not sure what "easier to use" means. Friction is what keeps them in position.
I sure wouldn't use bees wax. That stuff is sticky.

My trailer is in storage, but I recall being told at orientation that one can loosen or tighten the knob/screw at the bottom where the cord is "fastened" to adjust the tension.

All I know they are a PIA to replace if you break one. I had a plastic end cap break and replaced it, never could get it back to level.

The tension of the blinds is easy to adjust by changing the tension on the cords. Loosen the cords and they become easier, loosen them too much and the blinds will not stay up. Too tight and they become very stiff the move. There is a spring in the upper header rail the maintains tension on the strings. I had to replace the cord on my kitchen window because one of the grommets the cord passed through had a sharp edge. You can buy the repair kits for the blinds with come with everything needed to repair 5 blinds including replacement grommets. I didn't find replacing the cord difficult at all, the instructions were very complete, easiest to work on a clear table where you can spread everything out and keep the orientation of the rails

I bought a whole blind assembly from ETI to figure out:
A: How the thing works
B: Design something to get rid of the "backstabber" spools.
Someday I'll actually work on this project.......................

Yes the cords running down the sides just need to be a little bit tighter. first try just turning the screw in the plastic post (lower anchor) about 1/4 turn on each side.

Three of my blinds will not open; the cords either have broken outright or slipped somehow so they can't operate as designed. Very frustrating on our recently completed 5-week trip. Any solutions would be appreciated.

If the cords have broken the blinds just need to be restrung. The kit (listed in the above post) includes everything needed and the instructions are great. There are also a number of YouTube videos that are worth watching
