I have to agree with Reace. At first I thought it was a dongle, but then was pretty sure it was either a widget or a blivet. After careful consideration, I think Reace is right.

Could it be a dewhinkapivis used in the bottling of codswallup...invented by Hiram Codd in the 1870's?? Could be valuable.

When we took our VW in for warranty service, we received a loaner. In the glove carpartment of the loaner was a trigger lock for a gun. When I turned it in, the guy said, "Hey, Joe, here is your trigger lock!"

Turned out one of the mechanics misplaced it. This may be the same situation.

I just thought: does it have a part number on it anywhere? You could run the number through a Google search. Might find it.
