Window detached from closing mechanism

I was closing all windows in my pre-departure check this morning and the window in the bathroom came "unglued" from the closing mechanism. I am thinking heavy duty double sided tape for a fix or should I be thinking of something else?

I am not sure how the mechanism is bonded to the glass, but if you have some VHB tape, I would give that a try. Should work fine.

Thanks Jim... I am thinking I should duct tape the window closed for this morning until I can get to a hardware store on the next leg of my journey. I'm thinking it's probably not a good idea to drive with it unsecured...??

I just took a quick look at ours and wonder if the adhesive they use to reattach rear view mirrors would fix it.

Yes it's a 2 part glue, I like the Permatex brand, or an ultra violet glass adhesive or lastly urethane will work. Any good glass shop should be able to fix you up in short order.

I assumed you had the tape on you, otherwise I would go with the window repair shop as Doug mentioned. And yes, a bit of tape to hold it closed while you get there would be a good idea.
