Windows open unintentionally
Has anyone found their awning type windows open after hauling the trailer down a rough road? We found three windows open when we stopped after travelling through a very poor temporary surface on US Hwy#2 in Montana. Two loft windows, and the kitchen window on our 5.0ta had opened. This has not happened before.
I do not wish to ignite a debate on the pros & cons of these windows. We are happy with them. But if any one else has had this problem, I'd like to know if you found a way to keep the windows shut; other than staying off rough roads.

We have the same type of windows in our 19 and have just finished a 2000km trip over various types of roads. Have not had this problem. I do know that others have had the problem and so I was looking for it to happen, but it never did. I believe there were various solutions for example wrapping a cloth around the opening knob. I too, am happy with the awning style (At least so far) and glad I got them when I did as they are being discontinued.

Or there is a similar black plastic clamp available as well.

Patrick, if you do a search you will find a few threads on the topic. It seems to be mostly the kitchen and bath windows. Fortunately we have seen nothing, but I will be monitoring a lot closer too.

I would also not over tighten them...some have said this might lead to window failures.

Yes, we've had that issue. When we picked up our 21 in June, Escape told us not to tighten the windows too much...( If you really look at how they are manufactured, they can pull themselves apart when over-tightened ! ) But, driving on washboard dirt roads does loosen them to the point we see they are open in the truck mirrors. I might try the clamp ideas, but I will also try to avoid rough dirt roads !
Really like the windows though. Being able to have them open in the rain is totally the bomb.

On a recent trip we had two windows (above bed and dinette, both on passenger side) open on relatively nice reaches of highway. This is the first time it has happened in some 6600 miles.
