winterizing my 19 ft. Escape

Tried installing the Camco winterizing kit today but their is no room on the intake side of the pump due a covering which I take is maybe a furnace placement. Should I just get the hand pump from Camco instead?

Hand pump is dead easy to use. Just bypass the water heater. Takes about four strokes with my 17B and anti-freeze is already coming out of the sink tap.

Does it get into the pump that way? I always worry that some water could be left in the pump.

Escape says to run the pump, with empty tanks, for 30 seconds. That's what I've been doing for five winters.

winterizing question. could I safely take my Escape someplace for a couple days that only gets into the high 20's at night?

Sure. Folks camp all the time in cold weather. You don't need to charge the water system to camp.
