All of those are very valid reasons. I have not towed either and just thought the 5.0 might be somewhat easier to tow. All compromises I suppose. Thanks for your analysis.

Several reasons, I did not want to lose the use of the truck bed for storage an there is/was always the hitch set up for 5.0 having to be installed professionally. I had a 21 before and it was a known given, the 5.0 also has those 3 steps, I'm in my 70's and doing steps at night is something I avoid. Also the bed is warmer in 21 than the 5.0, closer to the heater and only 2 exterior walls whereas the loft has the floor, 3 walls and the roof is a lot closer, seems to me it would be colder and we camp year round.

    Hi Jim,
I have been reading this forum for awhile and have noted many of your comments as very logical and well thought out. I am considering either the 21 ft. trailer or the 5.0 fifth-wheel. I was curious why you purchased the 21 ft. and not the 5.0 fifth-wheel.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brad
