Hey Jeremy. The payload for my Ford F-150 is 1,437#. Yeah, CAN be a concern. BUT not for me. I travel 99% of the time solo, no pets either. The pin weight of the trailer takes about half the payload (including the hitch), but that leaves plenty leftover for me. Seriously I don't load up the bed (or cab) of the truck. Perhaps others can give you better advice. Maybe a 3/4 ton truck? Wish I could be more help!

Jeremy, it's strictly the way the body looks. IMHO the straight sides of the 2nd gen looks too much like a cargo trailer. No personality. The positive to the 2nd gen is the flat door and standard RV screen door and the Americana refrigerator. But, I like the sliding screen door and my refrigerator works and is just fine for me. You really need to see both styles for yourself in order to know exactly which you like better. Good luck!
