David - Chris here in Dallas. Just a note to thank you for sharing so much knowledge on the forum. This past April I took my E19 to the Grand Canyon and then up into Utah to do all the national parks plus kodachrome and dead horse point. The trip was awesome. Much of my intel came from your postings. We are heading over to Big Bend in February 2024. Your posts about Chisos were also very helpful.
I booked site 18. Thanks for helping us make some great memories!

Thanks for sharing photos of Escape-ing with your cats. I'm wondering if you've done anything to ensure against escape - at the door, at the window screens, etc. And do you have any sort of outdoor enclosure for them? Thanks!

Dave - I followed the multiple threads and vignettes wrt obtaining an alternate source for the dicor slider. It was like reading an intriguing novel... but then ended abruptly! Left me wondering if you guys were successful? Any advice?

I found the thread that describes the larger sites at Chisos Basin - https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f4...tml#post304203. Good luck!

Sorry, but I've been & gone. There was a post somewhere here at the Escape Forum that Alan described a couple of sites that would fit a 21, but I don't remember where it was posted.

    Good luck -

    Jon

David, Hi, I'm John L (trainman) in Ft. Worth, Texas and saw your post on this website. I to am in the process of getting a new Ram 1500 and having a hard time deciding between the 2WD and the 4WD. We are also looking at replacing or Casita with an Escape 5.0, or possibly with an Oliver. Like you said, you went with the 2WD Ram and I guess my only question is, is there that much difference between the suspension on the 2 vs. the 4 wheel drive Ram's, some say the 4WD's do set higher which could have some bearing on the vehicle when loader either to the rear hitch, or the bed 5th wheel hitch. I also want the truck to be able to handle a trailer like the Oliver without an WDH if possible, if we decide to go that way. Going back to the dealer tomorrow and try to make a decision on this, let me know when you get your 5.0, I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
