Fridge Cooling While Driving

In your experience, which mode is more effective at cooling the refrigerator while driving, 12V or propane?

While I don't have a 12V option with my 5 cu ft refrigerator, the general consensus is that propane cools best, followed by 120v and at the low end, 12V. Of course that requires that your propane flame does not blow out while driving, a problem for some models & installations.

Propane for sure!

Yes , propane . be careful when gassing the tow the pilot light can cause a fire.

I just turn the fridge off when traveling. It's not really convenient to stop and shut off the fridge prior to refueling or driving through a tunnel. The fridge stays cold for hours if you don't open it.
I've served ice cream purchased in Oregon when I got home to BC.

Driving or not, the 120 volt AC heater is normally higher-powered than the 12 volt DC heater, and the propane burner is higher-powered than either of the electric heaters.

Although I haven't had the trailer long I'm finding that with the solar panel and the trucks charging system I have very little drop in the battery on 12 volt.

I freeze a couple of small water bottles and tuck them in the fridge before we head out.
It is low tech
Generally it is nice to have a cold bottle of water around too
