I have ordered an Escape19. Do I need the extra LED vertical brake lights, perhaps if carrying bikes on the back?

Good idea to get them.

Yes; absolutely.

Even if you don't use the the bike rack, the extra visibility is an extra safety feature for a relatively small expense.

I added the extra brake lights so that the cars behind the one directly behind me can see the lights. Too many distracted drives reduces reaction time, so I'll add every advantage I can!

I would not be real concerned though, as the amount of glow they produce will be seen, even indirectly.

Still, I say get them. I had to add them on later.

Hi: Doug... My wife insisted on having them for extra visibility at the rear. Alf

I have them and I don't even have a bike rack. My son followed me home from pick-up and said the trailer was lit up like a Christmas tree. They're like an RV version of the Dole lights in cars.

I did too. I think it has been worth it. Added visibility helps.;)
