19' or 21'

What did you choose and why? Working on a 19' order, but have only seen a 21' just weighing the pros and cons.

Dan, There have been several previous threads on this, but for us, it came down to the 21' having a rear dinette, a larger bathroom and a bit more counter top space. But you can't go wrong with either one. Dale

perhaps it am overthinking it

we went for the 21' because:

the wider aisle makes the 21' feel bigger

we like the rear dinette... as on many camp grounds the rear will be facing the view, and also will be further from the road

more counter space in a 21'

bigger bathroom

not that much more cost.

and having the permanent bed by the door will not bug us..... the advantages above outweigh that (possible) downside.

and..... the #1 reason we picked the 21' over the 19'..... we won't get "2-foot-itis"

;)

Hi dan55,
Choosing the right size Escape depends on what kind of camping person/family you are!
Why we went with the 19?
The most time we spend inside is bedtime. -bed size.
Only half turn when using toilet. -bathroom.
Privacy. -bed in the back.
Do almost all cooking, brewing and dishes outside. -didn't care for larger counter space.
Only the two of us and our King Charles. -don't need big dining/lounge area.
Our King Charles. -more floor space coming in.
To sum this all up: we just love the layout!
Good Luck and best wishes on your journey in the Escape world!

Try to see both of them in person. You'll get a pretty clear idea of which one you prefer.

We were actually set on getting a 17' at first, but the permanent queen bed changed our minds. The ability to store inside at home made the 19'vs21' decision easy for us, since the 21' is too long to fit in our garage.

:signgoodluck:with your decision making.

19' or 21'

The only reason we considered the 19 was because of the queen-sized bed. But our previous trailer required one of us to crawl over the other and we didn't like it at all. We found that the 21's smaller bed seems bigger because you can lean against the wall a bit. We didn't consider the 5.0 TA because we need the truck bed for carrying a lot of fishing and camping gear. Loving our 21!

And, of course, some people like me want the smallest trailer possible that will provide the comfort level they're looking for. For us the 17 was a tiny bit small in some ways, the 19 perfect but the largest trailer that I want because of a number of factors. Folks can argue the relative merits of the 19 and 21 all day but for some size is a consideration.

I'm probably the only Escape owner here that had a 19' Escape, upgraded to a 21' Escape and now own the 2nd gen 19' Escape.
Having had both, there are pro's and con's to each model. You fail to mention your companions or the number of persons using the unit, pets, current tow vehicle and other items which would help us give you the information you are seeking. Either model will work and you will receive the Escape quality and personal service.
