Formica pictures please
Hello. Working on the build sheet for my 17B and have found all the information on this site very useful. I have found pictures of other's custom Formica choices but wasn't smart enough to save the photos. It would be beneficial to me and other Escape buyers to have Formica pics consolidated in a single thread or gallery. Your contributions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly? You'll never get a true color or reasonable texture by looking at something on a monitor. They're not color calibrated. I see the pics I added about Ten Forward and the color of the Formica isn't even close to reality. Upholstery is even worse.
What color interest you? Maybe that's a place to start. the best advice I can give you is do not make a decision based on a business card size piece of Formica you pickup at a big box store. Order the 5"x7" piece(s) from Formica: http://www.formica.com/en/us/product...me#swatchesTab |
Hi Cascadian. Welcome to the forum! Try to find the "It's Friday" threat. Lots of pictures threre.
I do agree with Donna about the colour thing. The best way to find your dream colour is by ordering a few samples of your liking, and then decide. |
Have you chosen an upholstery yet or are you going with stock?
It's easier to match a Formica to upholstery than the other way around... |
Welcome Sean,
First, let me say that the Escape 17 is an excellent choice! We love ours! Our suggestion is to do what we did. We went to the local big box stores (i.e. Home Depot, Lowes,...) and looked at and got some small free samples of formica. Then we looked at fabrics. We had decided on fabrics by Sunbrella (they make quality awning and marine fabrics), so we perused their website. Then we ordered larger samples of fabric and formica, for close-up-and-personal examination. We contacted ETI with our formica color and finish choice ("#58" is the standard matte finish), and then we ordered fabric and had it sent 'to us' at ETI. (That way, ETI knew to what trailer it belonged. ETI did the rest. |

I realize that a monitor is not the best place to see colors, mostly I'm just interested in seeing dark vs light colors in its natural Escape environment. As much as I would love to do something different with flooring and upholstery, the laminate is the cheapest option to make a significant change. I used to design and build custom houseboats, and the House Manager (and more fiscally prudent one) is already allowing me the trailer. I'm not willing to push my luck much further. ;)

Maybe those with stock upholstery and flooring would like to help then. The sage green color I have would not look good with the stock upholstery... at all IMHO.

Okay, here you go. Stock upholstery with a dark laminate (Formica Mineral Olivine Radiance Finish (3447-RD)). Note that ETI charges a premium for installing the radiance finish.
