Re: What size can I tow with FJ cruiser?

An FJ Cruiser, or any other vehicle with a 5000# towing capacity, should be a perfect match for the Escape 19 which has a dry weight of around 2510# and comes in at around 3600# with options and...

Re: Which Bike Rack?

I use the Swagman XC 2 that JerryS mentioned on my 19. I posted some pictures of it mounted on the trailer in an earlier thread. https://www.escapeforum.org/index.php?topic=717.msg17578#msg17578

Re: Factory Modifications?

Your build sheet looks good but I think that you should consider adding the "Two-way Hot Water Tank". The stock unit is propane only but the 2-way is propane or 120v electric (or both at the same...

Re: Want to see an Escape 19

That was probably me that you saw. I was travelling from Oshkosh WI, where I was attending the EAA Airventure Fly-in, back to Winnipeg. It's too bad you didn't have more time, I would have given you...

Re: Fridge temp?

I reported earlier in this thread that my fridge maintained 3C at a dial setting of 3. This week I am in Oshkosh, WI at the EAA Airventure fly in and am getting much different results. It was 38C...

Re: Suburban Water Heater Switch

I have not done the LED mod yet but when we were camping a few weeks ago, I turned the switch on to light the hot water heater and the light did not go on. The heater still lit normally, just no...

Re: Fridge temp?

I use an indoor/outdoor thermometer with the wireless outdoor sensor in the fridge to monitor the temperature. On propane, I usually set the temperature dial to 3 and this keeps it at 3 degrees C. If...

Re: Silencing the Escape 19 Water Pump

I would appreciate a picture of the factory solution. It is probably more elegant than what I came up with and I may want to implement it on my trailer.

Re: Silencing the Escape 19 Water Pump

In our old trailer the pump never ran at night because it didn't have a toilet. That's one of the things about the Escape that "changed my life". I can now drink infinite beer while sitting around...

Re: Dog issue in RV ..

Hmmmm. It sounds like Itasca 24V aversion to me. Quite common in the higher intelligence breeds like border collies actually. I'm afraid that the only known cure is to buy an Escape trailer; a 19 or...

Re: Bike Rack

Thank you for this tidbit of information. I had to get rid of my last rack because it could not hold our current mountain bikes. It is good to know that I will be able to keep this one for awhile.

Re: Silencing the Escape 19 Water Pump

I think that the pump waking me in the middle of the night is what finally drove me to do something about it. It is especially bad in the Escape 19 where the pump and rattling pipes are directly...

Then take the flexible tube and attach one end to the pump outlet and the other end to the fitting that you just put on. Once again, the fittings should be firmly tightened by hand, no...

Silencing the Escape 19 Water Pump

Part 1 of 3
Since the day I got it, my Escape 19 has made a loud hammering noise whenever the water pump runs. This is caused by the pipes attached to the water pump rattling against the framing. I...

Re: Electrical Monitoring System Installation (Surge Protector)

The plywood was already there in my trailer, I think it covers part of the black water tank. If you have the detachable power cord, you will already have 10/2 Romex wire going from the socket mounted...
