Re: Options and Modifications: Regrets...

Next time, we will have a marine plug put in for power, instead of the power cord that gets pushed into the storage bench under the dining table. The power cord gets grubby and that grub gets into...

Re: Options and Modifications: Regrets...

When we have shore power, we use an electric kettle to boil water for dishes, shaving and cooking (then the propane burner just has to keep the water hot). The hot water heater only gets turned on...

Re: Options and Modifications: Regrets...

We did not get the stove cover but after a 3 day try-out of our new trailer, we had the stove cover added for extra space to put things on. Washed dishes get put on a tee towel on the stove cover to...

Re: If you have an escape now, what did you have before?

Pre-Escape, we were in a Sierra Design tent and we used it this summer at Garibaldi Lake and at Deer Pass in the South Chilcotin (photo below). Unfortunately the tent leaks and the zipper is broken...

We bought a bicycle cover for the Swagman XTC bike rack in preparation for taking two bikes south this winter. We tested the cover on the bikes using the bike rack on the truck, not the 17' Escape...

Re: Solar musing

We found that 20 watts is enough with good sun and conservation. We bought the GoPower Duralite GPDL-20 panel. I posted more under How to extend battery life, topic: solar panel for trickle charge. ...

Re: solar panel for trickle charge

We bought the GoPower Duralite GPDL-20 20 watt solar panel, non-glass waterproof, unbreakable. It is not installed. We just bring it out when dry camping and a thin retractable cable lock keeps it...

We bought the Swagman XTC from Mountain Equipment Co-op and mounted it without adjustments to the spare tire.

Re: More storage

we got shelves put in the wardrobe too. No need for hangers for anything we wear on vacation. Coat hooks for jackets do the trick. The wardrobe shelves are great. An access door on the entry side...

Re: solar panel for trickle charge

I listed all the loads and came up with less than 12 Ah/day. We use a battery lamp when dry camping. No lights, no fan, no furnace. Minimal water pump. I calculated using less than 4 minutes/day for...

Re: solar panel for trickle charge

I'm looking at either GoPower Duralite 20 w (solid but unbreakable with 5 year warranty) or a foldable Sunlinq 12 w (1 year warranty). We'll buy something before we take off with the trailer in June...
