I never did Escape.. had one on order but was allowed to back out.

The instructions are obtuse... something about setting it so high you lockup-skid when applying the TV brakes at what? 20mph?

It either does or it doesn't.
If it does the batteries will not be needed much and wont run down

I have a Dometic Americana RM 2354 Americana escape uses a RM 2451 Americana and they are dimensional exactly the same. The difference is mine is 3-way. So I guess i have looked at them, right?

Not absolutely sure but I think trailer brakes are required in some states... over a certain size. :-\
In fact if the trailer you are towing is outfitted with them you wont be able to tow becasue...

I see the dual battery option on the escape is two 6Vs (in series I assume).
