Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

I have just under 12,000 km (7000 miles?) on the 2012 F150 ecoboost. Apparently, the fuel economy improves over the initial 16 - 25 thousand km. I didn't believe it would happen 'cuz who ever heard...

Re: What would you change.....

This was our second summer with our 17b. We camped in Sacramento in early July with the temp at or near 100F and the Maxx fan kept the unit liveable.

The things that I would change from the...

Re: Bc forestry camp grounds

There are several books by Kathy and Craig Maitland that we have found useful for finding BC forest service campsites:

Camp Free in BC 2005
Camp Free in BC, Vol. 1: southern BC 1999

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

Just got back from a quick weekend tow.

Averaged 13.5 mpg (Imp) over 200 miles of combined highway and logging roads. >:(

As there is only 400 miles on the odometer now, I'm really hoping that...

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

Thanks all!

Bought a 2012 F150 Ecoboost yesterday. Time will tell if I made the correct decision.

Re: Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

We just got a 2012 Ford F150 Ecoboost yesterday. I hooked up 'Ping today and towed it a few miles up our main street (major highway). Lots of power in the V6, but the in-dash fuel computer indicated...

Re: Outside speakers

In an ideal world, one camper would not think that their taste in music is entertaining to the rest of the campground.

This is why we boondock.

Re: screen room, toaster oven and removable power core

I'm a bit late to the conversation.

We have the screen room but only use it when we are staying put for a couple of days in mosquito country. We are glad we bought it as it doesn't take much room...

Re: Bike Racks

Same thought here!

I put a bike rack on 'Ping last summer. I am too cheap to pay big $$$ for an expensive rack so I found an inexpensivie one that seems half decent quality (paid about $100CDN...

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

Thanks TB,

IF my wife and I decide to replace the pick-up truck, the F150 Ecoboost will top the list.
IF we decide to replace the car with something that could occasionally tow, the RAV4 is at...

Re: Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

But can it tow a 17B???? In fact, can it tow a child's wagon??? If I just want maximum mpg and leave the Escape at home, I have a bicycle with a BOB trailer that I have camped with :)

Re: Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

I have heard the identical comment from every Liberty CRD owner that I have talked to. Too bad the North American auto industry can't get its act together to actually create quality products on a...

Re: Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

I missed the 2006 Liberty CRD run. I was waiting for that model and then decided to wait a year "for the bugs to be worked out". I believe it was emission standards from the Republic of Kalifornia...

Re: Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

There is a post or two in another brand forum where light footed Americans are claiming 17 mpg (Imp) towing a #4200 20 foot Flying Cloud Airstream.

Perhaps towing the lighter, better made Escape...

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

I probably get better fuel mileage than most as well.

My wife is quick to remind me if I exceed the posted speed limit by more than 5 mph ::)

Even though I tend to have a somewhat heavy foot...

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

Thanks for the information. When I went to look at the RAV4, the sales person tried selling me on the run-flat tires - "All the luxury car makers like Mercedes are going that way." The spare, or lack...

Any vehicles getting 20 mpg (18 mpg US?) while towing?

Perhaps this post belongs in a different catagory of the forum...

Does anybody have experience with a vehicle (prefer 4 wheel drive and #5000 towing capacity) that achieves 20 plus mpg while...

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

I know to guys that own Tundras and love them when not towing. However, they both load heavy trailers once in a while for major trips and, according to them, get about 300 km (200 miles?) before...

Hi Paul S. : Thanks for posting this information.

Re: Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

The RAV4 is probably the vehicle of choice mostly because of fuel efficiency when not towing.

As someone who occasionally wanders well past where the pavement ends the comment about "real" four...

Any experiences with 2011 Ford F150 V6 Ecoboost???

'Ping sleeps under cover until March or April.

We are thinking of surprising her when she revives from her Sleeping Beauty rest with a new tow vehicle.

Searching the forum, we are probably...

Thanks for the offer.

Out of curiousity, how much is the ferry trip to Port au Basque or St. John's ? Here in British Columbia, we once paid $975 to take the boat to (and back)...

Re: 2012 camping season

Watch out for dangerous wildlife, particularily the mule deer. Small children and medium dogs could be at risk.
