While the chemicals in the gelcoat are still dissipating for a few months after it's unmolded, 303 won't hurt it at all. It's not like a solvent based product or wax.

And that is precisely the right one to use on the shell, the original formula.

We get it by the gallon because it's far less expensive and will last us a very long time - just refill spray bottles...
