FWIW, my 19 loaded for 2 weeks came in at #450 tongue weight, my 21 was #500 for 2 weeks camping.

A 550 pound tongue weight limit is implied by the maximum trailer weight rating (5000 pounds) and Toyota's direction (given for most if not all models) to always use 10(±1) % tongue weight (stated as 9% to 11%).

The hitch itself may also have a rating sticker.

Since Escapes tend to tongue weight a little higher than 10% (both empty and loaded), assuming that the 550 pound value is effectively a limit, the maximum trailer weight is a bit lower. For instance, if 550 pounds is 12% of the trailer weight, then the trailer weighs 4583 pounds... more than 1600 pounds greater than the dry weight of a base Escape 19' (and more than 1300 pounds greater than the dry weight of a base Escape 21').

It rides well and I have not felt even a hint of sway, and we had some pretty strong winds coming from Chilliwack to Osoyoos.
Glad to hear, Eric! On my way west right now in my Highlander. Picking up our 21 Wednesday and heading back to Wisconsin.

The Highlander rear springs seem stronger than my Tacoma's did . We still had our 17 and when I was switching the WDH from the Tacoma to the Highlander the Highlander dropped less in the rear before installation of the WDH than the Tacoma did. Interesting too that when I was buying the 2016, the Highlander had more cargo capacity than the Tacoma did. Tacoma still was higher in combined weight rating due to its 6000# trailer rating.
