2018 F-150 up V8 oil consumption problem

Just traded our 2018. Using 2 quarts of oil inside 3000 miles. If you have one of these engines, you may want to read up about it.
Bought a new F-250

Ford only made one V8 for the F-150 in the past three years, the 5.0L

At what mileage did you first notice the oil consumption?

So far my low mileage 2018 V8 f150 has not used excessive oil between changes but it's certainly something I'm keeping a close eye on.

I used full synthetic oil if that matters. First noticed before the 10,000 mile oil change because I had to add oil. Let dealer know and they installed a new dipstick. Had them check again it at around 13,500. Then took it to 18K. Found that the new dipstick measures 2 quarts low when at the bottom of the hashmarks. At 20,800 miles it was low. I didn't want to trade, but felt I had no alternative. In this current market, the trucks have a very high trade value

Does it have cylinders deactivation?
I’ve heard if it’s turned off it’s better for longevity?

No, never heard of that on a Ford before, so I googled it.
Ford's apparently offering that on the 2021 5.0L V8 models

My TV is a 2013 F-150 with the 5.0L V8. Bought it new, has 100,000 miles on it, have never had to add oil between changes. I do not use synthetic oil.

It's 2018 - 2020 with the problem, hence the thread title.
If you look up the class action lawsuit, it explains it.
None of our previous Ford F-150's, all with the 5.0L motors used oil, and we've had a few.
Two 2010 F-150's. One I tried to lemon for many problems, and Ford settled.
The other 2010 was wrecked by a sleeping driver.
A 2012 V8 F-150 with 85K before trading last fall due to rust, but it never used a drop of oil.
A 2014 I traded on a Raptor, a 2015, and another 2018. All had low miles when traded, but none used oil.
That 2018 was a supercab I traded with only about 8000 miles on a better 2018 supercrew, so I never knew if it had an issue or not.
That 2018 supercrew with the problem was traded a couple days ago.
My wife and I each share two trucks.

I think the oil problem was 2018-2020 5.0 engine only

Had a Tundra. Loved the engine but tranny went out twice before 96,000 miles plus 4 sets of front rotors.

Now own F-150 3.5 EB. Only 33K so far but zero issues.

Heard the same thing about the later 5.0's.

Hope you have better luck than one of my neighbors who purchased a new 2019 Tundra.
Had nothing but problems with it, and claimed it was the worst POS he ever owned. Apparently he never owned a Fiat!
He now has a GM and seems to be much happier with it.
