I put a new pin box on my 5.0 and an Anderson hitch. Two men are required and the torque specification MUST be followed.
I am a maintenance technician and would recommend having it done at a shop if you are not a very handy person.
Just my 2 cents... Good luck.

Noting you have a 2016 5.0 (congrats!), I'm curious to know if you replaced the pin box due to it rusting or 'wearing out' in some way? Just wondering if your personal experience may provide helpful anecdotal info relating to long-term pin box maintenance or care.

Thanks in advance

If my rig was that far from level I’d raise the pinbox. I think you’re on the right course.

Sorry, can't offer the inside scoop on a rusting pin box. I replaced it because I bought the 5.0 used, 1 year old, and it came with a sidewinder pin box. In the 5 years that I have owned the trailer it has worked flawless .

Gotchya, the replacement was to eliminate the sidewinder, nothing to do with the OE-type pin box which you've had for many happy years now

Thanks for that welcome info!

I've changed course and decided to lift the trailer up with a Dexter lift kit. Lots of great information for a newbie like myself to consider on this thread. I'm sure I'll be tapping into all of the expertise on this forum in the future. We're excited. Thanks to all.

Hi: jdoe99... If you lift the trailer up you may have to do the twostep entry too!!! Alf

Got the lift kit and took her out for her maiden voyage to test everything out. She's a beauty! Again, thanks all.
