Since buyers have reported receiving the report of the weight before the trailer is completed, it is presumably based on adding the known weights of options to the base weight. That's easy for the normal options, but not for customizations.
The import paperwork for my unbuilt 5.0 TA lists a weight of 4415. That includes most options including full height cabinet by door, wider bottom step, two reinforced walls and two solar panels. I'm hoping the actual is bit lower.

Specific weights (of the trailer and its cargo capacity) were listed on our Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin.

I had to surrender that document to register our trailer (YMMV) but I kept a copy.

FWIW, the cargo weight was figured by subtracting the trailer weight from the GVWR.

It's also the best.
That's because those items were not available then or had not been invented when you purchased....

Good info - thanks

Since the trailer is not built yet, this weight is calculated by adding option weights to the base weight.
4415 - 3885 = 530 pounds of options

At one point the cargo carrying capacity also allowed for the weight of a full freshwater tank and full water heater - this was normal practice for any manufacturer (and should be). This might not be done any more, but as discussed in an earlier thread, Jim's 2016 came with a label clearly showing this calculation.

In that case (the photo attached) the dry empty weight implied by the GVWR and cargo capacity (1545 kg or 3406 lb) is higher than the published base dry weight (for that year and model), so it presumably accounts for factory-installed options.

This also provides an example of what Jim label might look for on the in-need-of-a-diet 5.0TA.
