Anderson wd hitch no longer offered--why?

We used ours matched with the Rav 4 without incident for a few years now. Will try it without now that we have a Colorado. Wondering why ETI went away from this option?

There were complaints about the material coming out of the cone that the ball pin sits in I believe. I think that issue was resolved in later hitches because weve had zero issues with ours.

The small local RV shop in our area sold / installed Anderson WDH for several years but recently dropped the line . Joe ( The Owner ) said they dropped the Anderson Line because there were other WDH's on the market that worked as well or better at a lower cost and secondly they were experiencing too many customer complaints with the Anderson WDH.
Whether this is the truth or a pile of BS , I have no way of knowing but it may be the reason for Escape dropping the Anderson line.

When we picked up our trailer in Sept. of 2015, we were told that the Anderson on our trailer was one of the last that ETI would be installing. I had the cone go bad yet that fall in Iowa but Anderson promptly sent a replacement, I had to take it to a machine shop and they put it in their shop press to get it back together. No problems since. Loren

Ross had issues, one of which is here:

Some other threads, that I didn't peruse to qualify them:

For me personally, nice to have the option of slapping on the Andersen, but I don't use it under normal circumstances.
