As you study that excellent reference, keep in mind that the Andersen Coupler Block offsets the trailer kingpin either 4" forward or 4" backward (depending on your choice of Coupler Block orientation). This Coupler Block offset is shown in the Andersen Dimension drawings attached in my previous post.
That effectively moves the
trailer's 'pivot point', making
literal application of the table on page 6 of that ETI document showing cab clearance impossible when using the Andersen Hitch. It's a 'small' difference, but again can be meaningful if your horizontal clearances, particularly between the pin-box and the tailgate / bed-sides / outside corner of the truck box, are close. This Coupler Block offset also bears on the space available to drop the tailgate (the distance between the truck and the front of the trailer when hitched).
The attached may help illustrate this, showing the effect of the Andersen Coupler Block when oriented
behind the trailer kingpin (the orientation that gives maximum clearance between the back of the pin-box and the
inside of the raised tailgate / bed-sides,
but reduces the clearance between the truck and the trailer available for dropping the tailgate when hitched).
Have fun!
