Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon -- Towing Mirrors
For those towing with GM's mid-size trucks, how do you find the mirrors? I noticed in building these on the manufacturer's websites that there isn't an option for larger/wider mirrors. Are they large enough? Can you see around the sides of your trailer, particularly the E21?
Right now I pull a SOB trailer with a Ram 2500 (the trailer is 28' long). Our kids are grown and hope to find a trailer that let's me get back to a mid-size...my truck is also my daily-driver.
Thanks for the help.

We went with a clipon set because there was no other option at the time. Not as good as true towing mirrors but adequate. They worked well for the 2 years we were full timing and are still in good shape.

I tow a 19 with a Colorado and have not altered the mirrors. I think with a 21 or 5.0TA you would have to have something, as they're wider than a 19 or 17.

Yes, my stock mirrors on the Ram is fine with the E19, but the extra width of the E21 requires added clip on mirrors.

We are satisfied with stock mirrors towing the 17B. Our truck is older and that in-line 5 cylinder revs high ascending passes out west or towing into headwinds.

If you find you need additional mirrors, a lot of people are happy with Milenco Grand Aero. They attach to the stock mirror housing, allowing you to adjust both the vehicle and tow mirrors independently.

We tow our 2019 E 21 with a 2017 GMC Canyon diesel. Before I got the trailer, I thought I would definitely need wider mirrors. I figured I would wait until I picked up the trailer to see if I needed some add-on mirrors. That has not proven to be the case and we have towed many thousands of miles with the stock mirrors. The stock mirrors work just fine. Others may not agree but that is my experience.

Since a Ram 1500 is substantially wider than a Colorado/Canyon, extended mirrors would likely be necessary even with the Escape 19' to match the visibility that Jim has with the 19' and stock Ram 1500 mirrors.

We tow our 5.0TA with a Canyon diesel. I replaced the stock mirrors with Clearview mirrors and are very happy with them.
