close trailer tight while towing???
Hi everyone, another newbie question...
Is it best to close the trailer up tight while towing it?
Or leave a vent or window slightly open to let air in?

I've always closed my trailers during travel and haven't had any problems. I do leave a window and the top vent open during storage.

i sometimes leave an open window when towing but most seem to close them up.

Be aware that in your 21 your bathroom vent might pop open while traveling. Mine did it twice - once could have been my fault, but not twice. Posted on here and found it has something to do with where it's placed, the wind coming over and what-not. Engineer hubby read the comments and said "that makes sense" (to him!). 
I fold up a washcloth and shove it between the vent handle and the roof, per someone's recommendation in that thread. Works great at keeping the vent closed while in transit.
I close all windows and vents, including the stove vent. Everything gets put away and all that.

I sometimes travel with the MaxxFan open or partially open. You can lock it in any position between closed and fully open. If you don't lock it, it bounces up and down and I guess could break something.

I think fumes from the black tank roof vent can get into the trailer via the other roof vents if they are open. Something was making my trailer smell bad after arriving at a new location. I started closing the vents and windows before towing and the problem has decreased. The gray tank may have a hand in this as well, though.

We don't have our Escape yet, but when towing our Casita in the summer we leave the roof top vent open. We have not had any problems with the refrigerator running on propane while towing.
Am I missing something? How does the pressure inside the trailer affects the operation of the refrigerator, which is vented to the outside?

Richard: I believe Jim means any negative pressure inside the trailer could act to siphon cold air directly from the fridge, not affect the combustion process at the propane burner.

I mistakenly left the kitchen window open for a tow, and that affected handling. Just enough to be noticeable.
Top vents seem to be ok when opened. I usually close tight though.
