Coming at this issue from another direction, already had my 05 Dodge 2500 Cummins, then got my 5.0TA. Will probably be looking in a year or so to maybe downsize the tow vehicle and it will definitely be diesel. Of course, right now I don't even know the trailer is back there and places like Teton Pass and the Powder River range passes don't even phase me to go up. I've driven my brother's 3.0L BMW diesel X5 pulling a bumper pull covered car hauler and it wasn't a bad tow but there's a big difference between bumper and 5th wheel pulling. Keep up the great reports on the smaller diesel pickups, especially the Rams and Colorado/Canyons!

Hi,
I will be staying at the Best Western (next door to ETI, they will give you a deal apparently) Sunday and Monday. After delivery, I have training at Valley Drivng School, also next door and then off to Osoyoos mid-afternoon.
Are you going to the rallye?

Hope to see you there. We are staying at friends in Victoria until Monday then go over to Chilliwack. I'll try to reserve at Best Western for Monday night. On the morning of the 23rd we are installing the electric break controller near ETI. Pick up the trailer in the afternoon and after that we embarking on a 5 week trek back to Montreal staying almost three weeks in several BC provincial parks and National Parks in the Rockies. How are you getting back to Ottawa?
Also let me know more about the "towing school"?
Cheers

Hi,
It's Valley Drivng School, costs $200 for 2 hours. It involves inspection, backing up and driving in traffic. A friend went through it last year and recommended. The Quebec Federation de Camping et Caravaning has a series of courses for members.
FQCC - Accueil
I will be in Osoyoos until May 29 and have yet to plan anything beyond that as I may have to come home quicker than expected. I'll be sure in mid-April.
I want to go to Nova Scotia later on, perhaps August or September. Other than that, camping around Ottawa and a favourite spot of mine, Mont-Tremblant. JP

GM does offer OEM towing mirrors for their equivalent to the F-150 - which is the Silverado/Sierra 1500 - but apparently not for the Colorado/Canyon (for which Ford currently has no equivalent model). Toyota, Nissan, and even Honda do have comparable models to the Colorado/Canyon, but as far as I know none have OEM mirrors... so there is a lack of competitive pressure here.

For an in-depth discussion, see Colorado\Canyon Towing 21 - post #22 and following.

Not a member of the Facebook Escape group. I did not know there was one. Will join it. BTW I know Long Sault quite well. Great place to paddle, cycle and camp especially during the week. I try to avoid the weekends, they can be a bit rowdy.
Perhaps we can meet up in the near future.

We will be traveling West via the USA. I got family Kalamazoo, Michigan, so that will be my first stop. After that I mapped two different routes. The one that we may end up taking will have us stopping at Minneapolis (Minnesota) , Glendive (Montana), Riverbend (Montana), Conway (Washington) and finally Sidney (BC). Long driving days, but I rather take my time on the return trip with the trailer.

That is too bad. I know I love mine. I had the Milenco with my Pilot, and they were the best I have ever used, but are nothing near what an OEM offers. Plus, I just like the large size of the mirrors, with a big, truly effective convex mirror. Hopefully aftermarket outfitters look to fill this void like Alf did with his Nissan. And hopefully that Ranger will have them too.
