Easy Hitch

I had to replace the batteries in my Easy Hitch.
http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Access...s/JE00600.html
The pair of them take four L41 button batteries.
The cost for one at London Drugs is $4.29 ( plus tax ).
I got four for $3.36 at Mountain Equipment Co-op ( including tax ). 75 cents each.

MEC doesn't carry every battery, but it's worth checking before you shop at your local drug store.

Re: Easy Hitch

How sturdy is the Easy Hitch? We'll be picking up our trailer next month, and I am looking for something simple, but effective.

It looks solid enough in the pictures, better than the much lighter "antenna" + ball product I have seen. Like the lights too. Whatever I get would need to withstand a 2- and 6-year-old playing Jedi.

Not interested in video systems. Any other suggestions?

Re: Easy Hitch

The Easy Hitch looks pretty durable. I have the tennis balls from Harbor Freight, under $10 US. I am on my second set as the telescoping portion kinked. I do not have 2 and 6 year old issue, that certaily complicates the issue.

Re: Easy Hitch

Mine are fine after three years, but I've not been involved in sword play.

I'd keep them locked in the glove box when not in use, if I was you.

Re: Easy Hitch

Should be able to avoid the duels. Finding products rosbust enough to withstand normal use by little, eager, "helping" hands is the real challenge.

Re: Easy Hitch

The kids shouldn't be back of the tow and near the hitch anyway.
They should be sitting on your lap and helping you steer or at the very least, standing on the back seat and advising you, while looking at themselves in the rear view mirror.
