Heck I'm feeling ancient, 2004 ford xlt extended cab two wheel drive with a 5.4 v8. Barely makes as much power as the non turbo v6. It has a tow package with trans cooler. It pulls the 2017 21 just fine, a little struggle over Vail pass, but that's it. Its paid for. I'm tempted to look at the new Tundras this year, but Id rather upgrade the trailer first. With two wheel drive the truck is rated for 9000 lbs.

I'm a "Toyota man" meaning I own a Sienna and a 4Runner. I've had Avalon's in the past. I did not buy a Tundra as my TV because of price, tow rating and MPG. I bought a 2020 F-150 with 3.5L EcoBoost, 4WD, and Max Tow Package (12,500 lbs). Doesn't know my 2020 21C is behind it. The F-150 gives me more than enough tow capability to upgrade to a 23, or bigger travel trailer. It rides like a car!

Just a quick look, the 2.7L EcoBoost is rated to tow 9000lbs, the new 3.5L EcoBoost is rated to tow 14,000lbs. 2 co workers own the 2.7L to tow different trailers and have commented how good they tow.

Price
I paid $34k CAD for my 2019 SR5 DC 4x4 4.6L NEW! At the time it was about $25k USD. I recently decided I wanted the 2017 5.7L (no Toyota Safety Sense and has the trans cooler) and found a low mile SR5 DC 4x4 truck for $38k. They gave me $37k for the 4.6L, ching ching!
I looked at many Fords and Chevs and couldn't get a package I was happy with for less than $55k CAD, the cheaper versions said made in Mexico and that's frowned upon around here.
