Ford F150 factory integrated brake controller
I have a 2022 F150 STX with tow package and factory brake controller. I think I have a problem with my brake controller . On my towing status screen I can not get it to show any output to the trailer brakes while pushing brake pedal. If i manually apply the brakes on controller itself it will show output. First picture is brake pedal and second is manual.Based on this I Relived the brakes where not working.I took it into service and they checked it out and it is sending power to the brakes. They seem to be unsure why it does not show on the towing status screen. They say it may not show on that screen But will check with ford and get back to me but could take some time. I would think with all the electronics on this truck it would show somewhere output to the trailer brakes. Does anyone have the same status screen show in the picture? If so does your show output while pressing the brake pedal?

No idea if it helps, but my 2018 F150 does not show braking when using the brake pedal, but does show it when using he manual lever. I do have braking with the pedal...

Same here.
Neither our 2015 or 2019 F150s showed a readout when pressing the brake pedal. Only when squeezing the dash mounted brake controller does a readout show on the dash. We have great braking.
Enjoy,
Perry

Some 2021 F-150 models as well. It’s a programming issue. Easy warranty fix. Ours was done in less than an hour.

Dealer did check for recalls and updates. They did do a software update. It didn't have anything to do with the controller on my truck.I now have the truck hooked to my home wifi and set it up to do updated once a week at 2 AM. Just so i don't miss any future updates.I starting to think maybe there is nothing wrong. it does seem odd they put a out put meter and only have it work manually. But as others have mentioned they done it in the past. I know the XLT's I looked all showed it working. hmm

I assume you are moving and actively decelerating (braking) when looking at the output. Modern proportional brake controllers do not work directly from the brake pedal, instead they measure deceleration and apply braking proportionally. When standing still there is no deceleration and no braking. The lever always directly applies braking. That how it works on my aftermarket Tekonsha.
