Hitch Height for High Lift Axle??

How to measure hitch height?
I have a two inch hitch on the back of my Ram for the boat. We ordered a 19 with high lift. In the specs it says 19 inches for hitch. So..do I need a new receiver and where to I measure it from? Do I add the 2.5 for high lift axle?

Hi Chowdagirl,
My 2019 E19 rides level with the top of the ball at 21". 19" works if you're not using the "high lift axle" option. We have that option on ours.

19” to the “top of the ball” with the standard lift axle and 21 ½” to the “top of the ball with high lift. I did confirm this with escape

Are the above measurements to the top of the ball with the trailer on the ball, or just the TV (no trailer attached) by itself?

Never mind......when loaded per ETI website

Believe hitch height is "when loaded" (hitched)

Per the ETI website specs for the E19 - it states "19" when Loaded", which I interpret as hitched?

Bottom off the spec table

Makes sense, as "squat" is an item when hitched, even with WD hooked up...........

It doesn't matter to the trailer how much the tow vehicle squats - the only thing that's important is how high the tongue ends up. The spec is for the top of the ball when the trailer is level, whether that is hitched up or not.

Because the tow vehicle does squat, unless you have air springs or another form of adjustable or self-leveling suspension in the tow vehicle, the ball will need to start higher before the trailer is hitched to it.

Believe that is basically what I stated........
