Yes, that would probably work also!

Katie,
I used a simple hacksaw to trim one of the levelers and that did the trick. Peter Styer, from a New York, trimmed them up for me one day, so they would look pretty.
I highly recommend the Anderson Levelers.

I’m still waiting to hear that someone trimmed them with a hatchet or a chainsaw!

It’s pretty amazing what people will do for you. I used bandsaw with an oil feed on the blade and it really did a nice job. One of mine was already cut by the previous owner but I found it easier to to shorten them both so I always have one that will fit between the tandems. I cut off enough that I’m about 1/2 to 3/4 inch ahead of The first hole. I’m running Goodyear endurance tires.

Love it! I was actually really considering doing something like that, but thankfully I found a friend who was able to trim one of the levelers down. He used a chop saw, and it worked great. He even rounded the trimmed edge to match the original rounded tip and all

Circular saw
If anyone else is pondering the Andersen leveler slice, a circular saw set at a 45 degree angle makes a very clean cut in about 10 seconds.

Was it one of the toe nail clippers the zoos use on elephants?

We purchased one Andersen leveler and one Andersen Rapid Jack a couple of trailers ago. In easily 500 nights camping we've never needed a second Leveler. We use the Rapid Jack for the second leveler.
Like others you do have to nip about 1 1/2" off the front of the Leveler to fit between the tires. We also received the rubber pad that goes under the Rapid Jack and have had to use that a couple of times to prevent sliding.
Enjoy,
Perry

Just to be clear - you use the Rapid Jack and Leveler on the same side at the same time? Not doubting you, I just hadn't thought of that, and since I'm in the buying mode, I would love to save some money - and space.

It appears the Rapid Jack is higher/thicker than the leveler? Not sure if both have the same angle of rise so that both wheels are equal?

I was close! Missed this thread last year before we picked up the 5.0ta last May. First night in the Lynden KOA I cut my Anderson's with a folding firewood saw, worked fine. When I got home trimmed them up nice and straight and rounded edges. They work great.

I have had Andersen leveling blocks for several months. They are made of durable material. I think they'll last for many years.

I bought a set of Andersen levelers on FB marketplace used for $40. They came in original box and had been used less than 5 times. the owner had cut one down already.

newbie question: I have Andersen levelers (pair) and 2 Harbor Freight rubber chocks. If I chock the trailer on a level site, can I use the Andersens on one side as conventional chocks with HF on the other side? Or should I buy 2 more HF rubber chocks?

I do this also when they are stored on top of my regular chocks. I have chocked some pretty expensive equipment on trailers with pieces of firewood thumped in with another piece of firewood. never had a problem . No use buying and carrying more than you need. That said I have camped with the Escape on some steep sites where I chocked the trailer, put the stabilizers down, put in the Ball XChocks left the trailer on the ball, set the emergency brake on the Highlander and chocked all four wheels on the Highlander. Can’t have too many points of contact.

Leveling block to fix flat
Just curious if you got a flat could you just use one of the Anderson leveling blocks to drive up on to change the other tire? Just wondering why there would be the need for the Anderson Rapid jack if you already owned the Anderson leveling blocks?
I have never changed the flat on a dual axle trailer so just curious. We'll be picking up an Escape 19 in a week and already have the Anderson trailer levelers.
Thanks
