New Ride

Hi Alf
Now I suppose you’ll set it up to tow and drive it all over the place and try to wear it out. I hope you try and fail.

3500 and counting

Glad you did not get foolish and say “I’ll buy the beer” at the planning meeting for that one.

Alf, looks good, you lost a little too much weight though, it is a little high in the front, or my sight is going....

Hi: cpaharley2008... There is one more adjustment that can be made. Raise the pin box up then readjust the hitch head, but I'm going to call it as level as it can be without doing that. "Escape Hatch II" rides a little "Nose in the air" proud.
I could of course let some air out of the air bags in the rear coil springs!!! Alf

Like a proud owner......make sure you have a full sized spare, I did not and had to purchase one for my Ram.

Thanks for the tip! I assumed there would be a full size spare on a full size truck with towing package. I just checked mine. Temporary spare

I had to order a new wheel and when I bought new tires, kept the best and mounted it, I carry it and the temporary. All the towing packages in the world will not get you moving with a temp spare while towing.......another shortcut taken by manufacturers.

Since your truck is so new, you may have recourse against the dealer, I'd raise HE## with them over the improper towing package.

I'm afraid I won't get very far dealing with them. I'm in SLC, and they're in Seattle. I suppose I could still try, but after dealing with them successfully on a different matter involving the Washington State Attorney General's office, I doubt they would return my calls or emails. That's a story for another day.

I did want ask you if there were any issues mounting a full size spare where the temporary one goes. Did you have to make any adjustments to hardware, or anything like that?

Thanks for any info you could give me on this, and thanks again for the heads up about the spare. You probably saved me a lot of grief somewhere down the road.

I carry it in my truck bed, under my tonneau cover, I left the temp spare underneath.
