Tonneau Covers 2020 Tundra with 5.0TA
Hi, wondering what others experience is with tonneau covers and the 5.0TA. TV is 2020 Tundra SR5 Off-Road with the short bed. Looking at clearances I'm not sure a tri-fold cover would work, and want to maintain some aft vision. Roll-ups look promising. Anderson ultimate rail is the plan.
Any advice from short-bed TV operators welcome!

I use the Trifecta soft cover on my short bed, 2018 Tundra Crew Cab. It folds up in thirds and although it rides right at the king pin does not bother it at all.
Pretty good cover. Nothing moves in the bed when traveling. Needs Armor All to give it shine.

We too have the Trifecta on a 2016 4X4 F150 3.5 EB, 6.5, bed, Andersen Ultimate. It clears the Andersen ball by about 4".

So I have the same F150 as you with the Ford version of the trifold, with Andersen ultimate hitch (Rail version). I don't have my 5.0 trailer yet and was wondering what the minimum clearance between the ball and the folded top? I can't remember the clearances but do you have enough room with the andersen hitch with the ball forward, or do you reverse it, ball aft?

We have about 4" of clearance from the ball to the Trifecta. With the cover folded to the cab the ball is about 8" from the cover, with the hitch positioned with the ball forward. I have towed some with the hitch assembly in the forward position and some with the hitch to the rear. I prefer the hitch to be in the forward position as the ball is then right over the axel. It seems to be better balanced and I feel more comfortable towing that way. Others may not agree, but that's the way of it.

HarleyD, do you have the gooseneck or rail version of the Andersen ultimate? Thanks.

Gooseneck hitch on our Tundra. Trifold is no problem for us.

The ultimate is the rail version.
We have a full bed rubber mat to throw over the rails when the truck becomes a ski vehicle. And the cover to keep the skis clean.
