Not exactly an E21, but the folks down the street from us pull a Wolf Pup with their Palisade. They say it does just fine. I believe they told me it has a 5000lb tow capacity.

I know someone does…a white one. The title “Anyone towing with Palisade” might get more responses.
If you hear nothing try the Facebook page.

Someone is towing a 21 with a Telluride, however your expectations might quickly be reset when driving in mountains. A loaded 21NE is going to be very close to 5K weight which means its OK on the flats, yet no so much at elevation.

Two things:

- The Hyundai Palisade is listed as 291 horsepower, 262 torque. That is sufficient if most of your towing is in the flatlands. It's going to struggle in the mountains since that's a fairly heavy vehicle anyway.
- Most importantly, your max towing capacity is 5000 lbs GVWR. You will be right at the maximum with a 21. If you carry much in the way of luggage, people or camping toys, you will be overloaded. In other words, it won't take much to be overloaded with this setup.

Can you do it? Yes. Should you? I would be looking for either a 19' Escape or another tow vehicle.

good luck,
John

100% agree with what others have said, your GVWR also needs to be considered, I was taught you really only want to tow max 85% of your capacity. Towing on level ground is WAY different then towing when elevation is involved.

Enjoy the road and smooth travels.

Another important consideration is the “invisible threat” - wind. If you’re towing on the borderline of capability, high wind gusts can be big trouble. On our return from Sumas last June, we got hit by an unexpected huge crosswind that moved us sideways.

I was so grateful to be towing our 21C with a more than capable F-150 combined with the WDH and stabilizer bars we purchased from Escape. Yes, the wind gust moved us, but the truck and trailer moved in unison with zero sway.

When you have a long day of towing and weather changes along the route, it can be hard to anticipate wind conditions. IMHO, it’s best to have a good bit of “safety cushion” in towing capability. Something to consider.
